George ‘Slim’ Aarons
American Photographer George ‘Slim’ Aarons is widely recognized as among the most important and influential figures of 20th century photography. He spent his life and career capturing moments of the 20th century that most people did not see, nor have access to.
In the last 10 years, and indeed since Aarons’ death in 2006, his notoriety and popularity has soared, and the (currently) 4,059 images that have been digitized by the archive represent a small portion of the much larger legacy of the man who sought to show a peek into the lives of the wealthy, extraordinary and secretive persons & families of the 20th century.
